Gelcoat or LPU?

I have this dilemma where my topsides are relatively in good condition but transitions are shabby.
My deck is gelcoat but where the topsides roll over deck to grip tread and open transom*is LPU (international 2pack).

Transom has taken a bit of a hiding and the roll over from topsides to kiwigrip is a bit fragile.

I'm thinking multiple coats of brushed unwaxed gelcoat, followed with waxed last coat and then wet sand until peel is gone & then polish.

I guess I could spray the gelcoat with pressure pot? Never done that to cut back, rather to a female mold, then layup.

Too much work?

Re: Gelcoat or LPU?

Too much work. Gelcoat is super labor-intensive.

Re: Gelcoat or LPU?

I painted with 1 part. Where you walk on it you may want a 2 part which claims better adherence and more life before r-painting (due to higher hardness of 2 part LPU).
