Gas Locker

I’m going to start building a gas bottle locker. Our current set-up has bottles stored in the lazarette which means bottles would leak into the bilge so highly unsatisfactory.
Can anyone provide links to images or advice as I start to play with designs. I know it has to be contained with overflow out through hull above waterline... simplest would be to hang them off the back... but I haven’t found a source of brackets for this...

Knowing where you intend to locate the gas locker you build would probably help others give better ideas. Will it be inside the lazarette, hung from the stern rail, somewhere else?

Thanks Doug... good point.
I’m looking at all options at this stage but am tending towards hanging them off the stern rail for simplicity, saving room and avoiding any more holes drilled through the hull.
The boat is a Salthouse Cavalier 39 (similar to a 1970s pacific38 in appearance)
Is hanging them in an open rack ok or should I build a box?

If you feel they will be in a location where they are relatively safe from physical damage my inclination would be an open rack with a fabric cover. I would use a waterproof and UV resistant fabric like Shelter-Rite for the top and sides of the cover and a mesh material for the bottom so that any water finding its way in can drain out

I made something similar to the bracket in your picture last spring but used iroko rather than aluminum. Worked great to hold a #20 bottle. Sorry but I don’t have a photo.
