Galley Counter tops

We are looking to purchase an older Island Packet and will want to replace the galley counter tops. Who would we call to get that done? Any kitchen counter company? I mean, it's a template and cutting, right?

Re: Galley Counter tops

I would suggest a call to Mack sails in Stuart fl, they have done a lot of work on IP’s and have a very good rep.

I'll second Mack in that area. We opted for granite on our big ketch where weight wasn't an issue.

If you don't mind a messy DIY project, you can put Corian in yourself. Solidsurface.com. Just use a trimmer bit in a router to copy your old counters, in place.

Being a woodworker, I had thought of that option as well. My problem is, if there was an issue with fit or finish, The Better 9/10ths will come after me to fix it. With someone else taking care of it, it will be done correct or she can beat on them with any issues and we'll have some sort of warranty.
