Framing Question for Fairclough owners

Hello All,

For those of you who own full frame Fairclough winter covers; has anyone successfully used something like shrinkwrap strapping tape in lieu of the wood Furring strips for keeping the poles rigid and preventing snow accumulation on the pitch? Thanks in advance (and I apologize if this is being posted in the wrong forum)
