fixing kitchens oven panels

Hi all,

I´m living in a dufour 385 GL in Faro, and the panels around my oven are in bad shape, need to replace or install something better, the one I have now they bend when the oven is working due to he heat.

Any suggestion on what to use?

thanks a lot for your help.

I attached a few pictures.

Re: fixing kitchens oven panels

I hope I don't have the same problem but I left a fair gap (3 inch +) so it should be alright.

What about something like this?

Re: fixing kitchens oven panels

Those cracks do not look like it is the heat that has caused them. They look to me like stress cracks.

I think you should talk to a reliable shipwright about how to fix it. I'm thinking a new stove box, and line that with s/s sheeting, spaced 1/4" or so off the sides, but allow enough space for the stove/oven to gimbal. Sorry to say this, because it is a big job, but it look like the liner somehow came unglued, and the boat has been moving separately from the liner.

See if you can get one of the guys here to take a look. I could be wrong about this. "Boatpoker" comes to mind. Send him a PM if he doesn't show up. Or leave a message on his Profile page.

Ann

Re: fixing kitchens oven panels

Thanks a lot for the replay and help, it was broken by accident, the boat for now is in good shape. The panels that are unglued by the heat are the lateral ones. My question actually was heading towards what material will you use to replace the one I have now, for other that will last longer and behave better on heat.

thanks again

Re: fixing kitchens oven panels

Cover it with sheet stainless steel bent to shape. Good heat shield, relatively inexpensive.
