Finish question - oil only or "Boat Sauce"?

I want to dress up my teak, but I'm not a fan of varnish. I recently saw a boat with great looking teak that used oil. I've also been told that a great finish can be had with Boat Sauce - a mix of oil, varnish and turpentine.

Can anyone tell me what if any would be the benefits of the sauce over a oil only application?
