I am looking at struts for my shafts and it occurred to me that it would be very easy to build, fit and fasten the struts if they were
fiberglass instead of
bronze. They could be glassed in, eliminating the need for fasteners. In addition they would never need zincs. This makes me wonder why I have never seen
fiberglass struts on a
boat. Am I not looking hard enough or are there good reasons not to use fiberglass?
