Hi I just bought a compass28
Australia built and they have
classic lines a bit like a GRP H28. But they just don't sing trad or
classic toe and I think it's in the detail. I would love to put in brass portholes and cowels but this yacht is another stepping stone and I don't want to throw
money away.
So while looking at my options and emailing some plating companies that do plastics I thought perhaps there is a company already producing ABS plastic cowels with brass plating at an economical
price?
Or better yet any
cheap real ones available? I would think
India would produce some
cheap ones but can't find anything. There was a post about west
marine having some for a bit over $100 but when I went to thier site they are like $300 ea which is too rich for my blood.
While on the subject the yacht has new portholes that are white aluminium framed. I'm thinking of using a high quality gold or brass metalic
paint over top. Has anyone done this sort of thing and with what result.
Other things on mymind are using some
teak alternatives in the
cockpit.
At the moment everything is pure white and there needs some contrast.
Any suggestions welcome.
