Elan 434 remove ceiling plates

Hi.
We have an Elan434 Impression and we have some problems with water leakage through the ceiling in the aft cabin (owners cabin model). We don't know where it Coles from, but obviously it has to come from above. I am suspecting the table mounting pilars in the outside cockpit.

To check this I need to remove the ceiling plates in the aft cabin. Can anyone please explain how to do that? I can't see any fasteners, screws or likewise.

Any idea or thoughts?

Thanks! /Teddy

Re: Elan 434 remove ceiling plates

The "sinking feeling" is that they may be glued in place and very messy to remove. If you don't need to replace them, consider tackling the problem from above. You mention the mounting holes for the table; there can't be a large number of candidates, and all could be sealed with some 3M 5200.

By the way, welcome to the forum, Teddy.

Photos might help.

We have headliners locked in place with hidden hooks. We must start at one end and remove sequentially. The ‘key’ section is locked in with a trim strip. Hope they didn’t glue yours in place.
