Easy tiller finish

I've sanded down my tiller and would appreciate a recommendation on an easy finish. My boat is no beauty queen, and I don't have the time to invest in 10 coats of finish and sanding in between. Are there any good protective finishes that may sacrifice a little aesthetically for convenience?

Re: Easy tiller finish

Go to the Spokane recycle depot and ask them if they have any 1/2 tins of oil based paint you can have.(Color not important!)
