If you would be a bit nicer to your potential customers, they might stop trying to hit you with their urine disposal techniques or even the box with the big goodies LOL.

Now that's funny The whole topic is about urine. You wouldn't pee in your wetsuit while cleaning a boat bottom would you?

No I wouldn't. I have to spend the whole day in a wetsuit. I have no desire to spend it soaking in piss.

Anybody willing to dump a bucket of piss overboard in a marina isn't going to quibble about emptying the holding tank in the middle of the night either, IMHO. And I'm less concerned about alienating potential customers than I am swimming through the results of your morning ablutions.

I earn my living in the water in marinas. I don't take a leak or pinch a deuce on the carpet in your office. Please extend to me the same courtesy.

From my local paper:

Quote:
Feb. 12, 2013 ....after a sewage pipe failed and 2,700 gallons of raw sewage discharged into the river Monday....."It's a small spill," said Renay Rouse, public information officer for the Martin County Health Department......According to state standards for enterococci bacteria, levels higher than 104 species per 100 milliliters of marine water is considered "poor," and levels in the thousands are a serious problem. Monday's levels near the spill site ranged from 164 to 238

Re: Dump Airhead urine in galley sink?

Now don't shoot the messenger, it had to be said. Tough love. Can't be fun diving in a marina!
This should be another thread, but it is the giant elephant in the room. Poo I think we can all agree on, but is pee, say at a 20-30% live aboard marina, really all that bad?
My old marina was an excellent hurricane protected marina, but that also means poor circulation of water ( what's that called, can't remember). Anyways, that is the trend, dock your boat with good protection, It follows that water quality must suffer.

Hope that made sense

How 'bout next time you take a bath, you let me pour, say, a shot glass of someone else's pee into the tub with you? Hey, it's only pee. Is it really all that bad?

I see your point, which you didn't need to make, I'm a nurse and as big of a germaphob as you can find. Hell, your the one swimming in it

But you didn't answer the question, though the answer may be obvious.
Maybe by spelling it out, ( though it sounds like you are not the one to do it) it might convince some to not do it, or It may show how minuscule the impact really is.

Just sayin

That's a silly comparison--dump the shot glass in an Olympic swimming pool and see what you think. I bet every time it rains wherever you are a lot more dog piss and poop runs into the harbor than could possibly be discharged by every cruising boat in the area if people lived aboard full time and never used the holding tanks. Plus oil, asbestos, chemicals of all sorts, etc. My suggestion is not to pollute, but we really have to keep things in perspective.
