This isn't my area of expertise but the algal blooms leading to fish kills just can't be labeled "healthy ecosystems." I mentioned Chesapeake but I think its virtually worldwide around inhabited places, although I can't back that up this instant.

Some algae led to birds and sea lions death in Florida, by means of producing a toxic acid that caused brain damage. That was carried by anchovies who cleverly store it in their bile. The name of that is evolution, same as turtles and birds carry salmonella which is deadly for children and many mammals.

Re: Dump Airhead urine in galley sink?
Amazing....maybe we can stretch this thread out so far that it will necessitate amending the "most popular threads" thread.
So, to keep in with the thread atmosphere, what do the hardcore passagemakers and stormfighters do when they're lashed to the wheel and need to answer the call of nature? Can't leave the helm, mountainous confused following seas, wind boxing the compass, autopilot is stuffed, windvane blew away, and the crew is hors de combat in their berths or safely in a warm dockside bar. Got a bottle or a lidded bucket spare in the cockpit locker?

Re: Dump Airhead urine in galley sink?
Why dump your pee when diesel owners are buying it for $6.00 a gallon?
Urea tanks will be standard equipment for most new diesel trucks, buses, cars, and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) manufactured in the United States after Jan. 1, 2010. An automotive grade of urea will be injected into the vehicles' exhaust stream to "scrub" nitrogen oxide (NOx) from the diesel exhaust.

Diesel exhaust fluid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I've read that Flying J is installing filling stations with an estimated cost of $3.60/gallon.
One MB owner reports he gets fluid at the VW dealer for $12.50 for a 2.5 gallon jug which is about equal to the flying J estimate if you subtract cost for the jug. Can't imagine Ford would charge more than VW.

Re: Dump Airhead urine in galley sink?
If you put urine in my sink you would not need to worry about doing a second time because by the time you got out of the hospital you would be sitting down to pee. Call a us health board to see if they think that would be a good idea in a commercial kitchen.

Stiff a waiter on his tip, next time you go to the restaurant you'll probably have some in your soup.

Oooh I think that's the first threat of violence for this thread! Now if someone said they'd shoot you and use you for an anchor we'd have a real thread!!!
(just playing Justlearning, I know you were being sarcastic)
