Folks, urine is sterile, same are tear drops, safer to drink then any tap water. Any nurse can confirm that. Girls, please do!

Perception is not what makes it taboo. Where in the world do people drink their own piss if they have water available? Drinking your own piss is what makes it taboo. The human body expels urine to get rid of pollutants in the body, things that it needs to get out, not things that you should put in a glass and drink. Pretty sure that's what water is for...

There is also electro-shock therapy, thats useful right?
Says in that article that it relies on the gradual introduction of urine, if too much is put into the body it can cause damage...
Hmm..............duh?

Re: Dump Airhead urine in galley sink?
You mean hygiene? Urine consists of urea, which is an antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral agent. Urea is produced when the body tries to balance the ratio of sodium chloride with water. Because of its ability to kill bacteria and limit inflammation, urea is often used in ointments and lotions.
When you spend days up on a mountain, if you cut your finger all you have to do is piss on it. The cut will close clean, no infection, no stress. My grandfather had no bandages at war and came back with all his fingers.

Needless to say, I'm not the sharpest pencil on the chart table, but if urine is all that sterile, why not just rinse the dinner dishes while also taking that pee? Saves water, saves steps... win win!

Now I understand why the monkeys try to pee on the people below... they are just trying to help The sticks they throw down must also have a deeper meaning. Silly me to always think they were just being hooligans

Re: Dump Airhead urine in galley sink?
Normal urine is sterile when voided so what's the problem? Course you can get some wicked bugs growing in the residue in the sink so frequent scrub down is a good idea. But you'd be disinfecting the sink from time to time anyway, right?

Re: Dump Airhead urine in galley sink?
For all the debate, I'm yet to hear at what concentration urine in the water matters? Surely this is a relative issue. We pee about 1-2 liters a day so how much in a creek, marina, river, what-have-you, is a problem? Everything is polluted to some degree, so how much is too much?
If you don't know, how can you argue it's a problem?

Most people put things in a sink you don't want to dip your food in. I have dumped wash water from the bilge, raw meat, washed out paint brushes, washed the floor under the cat box, etc. I wash out the sink well after something like that goes in. Then I make sure any sponges are put up where they are not used. Don't you people clean your sinks?
