Re: Del Rey 50 refit - sv Trim

This January has been a month of good progress. We have been very pleasantly surprised by how warm the weather has been.

Here are our new chainplates that we cut and polished ourrselves but after drilling the first hole myself i realised I wouldnt be able to achieve the level of accuracy that I desired and had them machined proffessionally.

With the deck sealed in epoxy primer, we were able to remove the tent from the foredeck to allow some more space to work. We raised the new tent structure to allow full standing headroom over the cabintop and cockpit while we finish fairing the cabintop and joining the bulwark to the taff rail.

Re: Del Rey 50 refit - sv Trim

The nav station has started to take shape. There was originally a bulkhead cutting this space in half accommodating a very cramped head and a very cramped standing nav station. Moving the head to starboard has allowed us to design this new nav station which will allow us to have ample space while either standing or sitting. This will be the location of our distribution panel and VHF radio.

Re: Del Rey 50 refit - sv Trim

Here is our new freshly primed and 100% waterproof deck next to our old VERY leaky teaky deck. It looked nice but it sucked.
