Too true but the OP went to the trouble to buy a half cell and is learning how to use it. That is also rare.

Electrolysis cannot occur on a boat it is one of those catchy dock expert terms used by people without training in the matter. It is quite likely stray current corrosion.

I never said my boat was not at fault only that the results from the reference electrode didn’t show a problem

I will go through all the helpful questions/ comments left by forum members tomorrow
