I will have to bring a set of caliper next time and mic it out. Are these cranse irons always perfectly round? and if so is any amount of stretching unacceptable?

Re: Cranse iron and bowsprit collar

i have a 40 yr old boat with original cranse irons.
none is stretched. mizzen, main, sprit--allstill round. stretching would warp the shape so no longer round. this is some hefty stainless we talking here. same thickness as my newest chainplates, slightly thicker than my original to boat chainplates.
all are individually created out of stainless and the only ill fitting appearance is due to shrinkage of wood inside the iron.
