Crack in I/O Outdrive

I have a crack in a Mercruiser outdrive/sterndrive - the crack is right where the prop sets in the drive housing - crack is in housing itself. Is there some kind of filler that could be used for this - like a marine rated bondo-equivalent or something like that?

Boat is an AristoCraft.

Thanks!

Re: Crack in I/O Outdrive

May be time for a new lower unit. Exactly what model is it? The area right behind the prop is what holds in the prop shaft carrier with large nut. At some point, you'll put the drive in reverse and your prop, prop shaft, carrier will shoot right out of the drive like a torpedo
