Companies in MD that professionally install marine A/C ?

Hi all,

We consider buying a 2009 39-foot monohull. The boat comes with a very nice heating system which is suitable for colder climates, unfortunately, no Air conditioner.
Our sailing area will be mainly the Chesapeake Bay for the next two or three years. Our experience so far is that no A/C is not an option, at least not for us. It may work in some areas for some people if you are at anchor, but in marinas without A/C would be just horrible.
Long story short, if we buy the boat, we would have to install A/C. I have seen inexpensive solutions out there, some of them portable and so on but I would like to have something professionally installed, I know it will not be cheap.

Who can point me to a company with a good reputation that professionally installs marine A/C systems? Preferred locations would be the upper Chesapeake Bay.

If you are on the Eastern Shore of MD (upper bay), Rick Miller of Miller's Marine Services, Inc. does excellent work and is very fairly priced. A couple of years ago, we had the A/C unit in the main salon die while on an extended cruise to the southern Bay. We popped into Solomon's Island and stopped at one of the major marinas there. Their A/C technician pronounced the compressor dead and recommended that the entire unit be replaced (major $$). We brought the boat back to Rock Hall and called Rick. He showed up with the diagnostic gear that was able to show that the only problem was the starting capacitor ($25 part). The entire job was about $200, which was about 50X less than if I had gone with the original diagnosis.
Rick has also done several jobs in our marina, including complete replacements, and everyone has been very happy with his service, quality of work and fair pricing.
