Colvin 42' Pinky

Hello everyone.

I'm on the lookout for a 42' Colvin Pinky Schooner in any condition. I have heard there are about 4 or 5 in various states of construction around the Great Lakes.
Drop me a line if you have any info.

Cheers
Gregg

Re: Colvin 42' Pinky

I'm aware of a colvin gazelle on the great lakes. She's in rough shape from the deck up, but lots of work has been done below including a new engine. Owner has new sails. She was in kettle point on lake Huron, or near there. My brother and I looked at her and nearly bought her, but were turned off by how much transverse strengthening she needed. Would be a good project boat for the right person.

She was listed by Pat Sturgeon Yachts of Toronto. They no longer list her, but I bet they could still put you in touch with the seller. Asking price was below $20k.

Re: Colvin 42' Pinky

There's a Gazelle on Craig's List, out on Puget Sound, up in BC. I think she's new, & needs some interior construction etc. Possibly an engine, plus sailing gear too. You'd have to look. Ah, & she has a pilot house, also, in lieu of a "cockpit". And was painted a color that definitely had to be on discount when they bought the paint.

Assuming that Pinky's are steel (or aluminum), you might try the Metal Boat Society website.

Tons of them (literally) in Guaymas, Mx. on the hard. Cool boats but far from maintenance free.
