Newhaul, going way back to post 6 of this thread , it appears that you have an MD2,, not an MD2B. The starter generator gives it away. It is a great engine but even harder to get parts for than the newer MD2B. I bring this up because you would not want to be buying spare parts for it and find out later (when you really need them) that the parts are different. It is still plenty of HP for your size boat. I just ran across this thread and like it. ____Grant.

grant she is actually a 1972 md2b by the serial numbers.
But thanks for the heads up.
No problems getting parts I have a supplier for all things volvo in Greece.

Here is the next project for the upfitting of SV Stephfen Ulysses
5kw forced air diesel complete with day tank.
( made a mistake and offered 150 for it ) they accepted)

Just added a new tool to the kit on the boat
A 1973 Montgomery ward's ( clinton) air cooled 2 HP outboard for the dink saves rowing
Had to clean the carb (hasn't been started in over 15 years.) started right up.
Wonder if it would get me in and out of the marina ?

I love this, favorite mod I have seen you do yet. Looks great, I just saw a guy list a powersurvivor 35 for sale new in the box. Sadly he is trying to get the same price as the brand new not old stock 40E lol. ah well
