I have 2 100 watt rigid. Monocrystalline panels and can also deploy 2. 100 watt flex panels at anchor. So far the 2 are keeping me up and the mppt gives me about a 20% increase in amps into the batteries.

Re: columbia defender hull #60

Well it appears I may have just purchased a Technautics "cool blue " holding plate system so now I have to do the ice box insulation and prep before I'm swimming in boxes.

I will but the refer is still in his shed in Maryland.

BTW my 24 hour power test shows 35ah per day and that's running the furnace as it's still freezing at night and the dorm fridge off the inverter. Heck the inverter alone is 18ah just having it on . .75ah per hour in standby.
So converting to 12 volt refrigerator will be mostly a wash saving the inverter usage

How about that engine? I’m curious to see how that’s working out.

Re: columbia defender hull #60

Well finally found the time to do the project . What a dusty mess it was.
Also had to trim an inch off the top of the ice box to get it out without tearing the counter out .

From 40 mm on hull side to 30mm on all other sides top half and 50mm on lower half as allowed by space constraints

Except the hull side which has a wedge of empty space behind the insulation so I just threw the cutting scraps there . Should help with heat from the Sun on the hull. Besides this stuff it to darn expensive to toss in the trash .

Lookin good! The flush deck sure gives the appearance of more room down below compared to a regular Columbia 29.

It actually gives 20% more cabin room and more comfortable to sit at the galley table you can actually lean all the way back

Re: columbia defender hull #60

Designing a dodger for my offset companionway hatch .
I would like input and opinions.

All flat surfaces will be clear with sunbrella at the corners . Pvc frame.
And the big question turtle slider cover or no cover.

Newhaul, which Daly 200amp BMS did you get? Nice battery box. Were the 25ah batteries the first LFP bank? Do you have both on the boat now?

Ron I will dig back through my paperwork on the bms

That clear box holds a 100ah from the 25ah cells and it is at home in my shop as a portable pack for shop use. Lost one cell due to my own mistake so now it's a 50ah bank and a 25ah bank with 3 spare cells.

Just have the 250ah blue cells on the boat now.
No current pictures sorry
