Clear Epoxy Glue

Anyone know of an equivalent clear epoxy glue available in UK/Europe.

I have used Techniglue in Australia and Kossanglue in Asia.

2 part gel adhesive that is "clear" when cured, mix ratio is 2:1 comes as a gel in tins, does NOT pour.

Clear Epoxy Glue

The Seatec brand is widely distributed by SVB and other chandleries.

Add in micro balloons to convert it from laminating resins to a more viscous putty style if desired. They also do a pre mixed epoxy putty

Also west system and International Paint epoxy products are widely available also Hempel do a range of products , Levente in Italy do a range as well.

Peruse svb.de to see brands and compositions. In Greece where I am there are some local brands as well.

Thanks but these are all either fillers or putties that are available everywhere.

I need an epoxy "glue" that comes in gel form that dries clear. The two brands I mentioned are exactly what I am looking for but can't find an equivalent in Europe.

Re: Clear Epoxy Glue

Ask Hempel customer service. And maybe other manufacturers.

A test. I have just sent an email to Hempel UK. Let's see what they come up with. My current success at receiving information from manufacturers/suppliers is dismally poor. I will keep you posted if I do indeed receive a response.

I was hoping someone would have actually used something similar.

Why do you need something so specific. There are lots of domestic two syringe type expo it’s around. All mix to a gel like consistency and dry clear. Any school or art shop will have them.

I did get a prompt response from Hempel so fair do's but this should really go in the joke section.

Good Morning,

Can you please confirm where you are in the UK, we can then pass this query onto the local sales manager,

Kind regards

Good Morning,

I’m afraid we do not produce or supply glue.

Kind regards

Just goes to reinforce my enduring scepticism regarding suppliers. They seem to have very efficient Sales Prevention Managers who either don't respond, palm you off to distributors who demand industrial quantity minimum orders or retailers who no longer stock their products or know absolutely nothing about them and would rather sell you something else. I guess nobody works on commission any more.

Rant over.

I have since identified the product as Thixotropic Epoxy Glue. Now I need to find one that cures clear.

For this particular application I am sticking white ABS plastic trim to the edge of Phenolic paper honeycomb with Kevlar skins.

Re: Clear Epoxy Glue

Gorilla Glue has a clear thick gel in a dual tube syringe.
I’ve used nothing but West on boats. I’ve used gorilla epoxy on everything else. And epoxy is never clear for long without adders to defend it from UV like white pigment.

Re: Clear Epoxy Glue

Thanks everyone. I found the stuff I need from Wessex Resins PRO-SET ADV-170/270 comes in a no colour form.
It was just a matter of knowing what it was call Thixotropic Epoxy Adhesive.
