cleaning roller furler sail protection

Hi! We have an older 42 Vagabond sailboat with a dirty roller furler staysail cover. Is it posible to clean it, I'll have to bring it down of course.
Soap and water only? Can I use Oxiclean in with the soap or something better? I don't want to remove the protective coating that makes the sail
last long time. thanks
