Cleaning Meissner 25ST-44 winches

Went to clean my winches today and on the Meissner 25ST-44 winches there is a roll pin that is in a slot that goes through a shaft. This shaft holds two gears in place. The problem is that I am not able to get the shaft out, thus not able to get at the gears and pawls inside. I got one of the roll pins out but the shaft willl not budge. Any suggestions on how to loosen the shafts? I'm thinking of squirting a penetrating oil on the shafts. The problem then is getting a hold of them to pull them out.

Ended up pulling the winch off of the boat. The penetrating oil did not loosen the shaft. I will soak it now and then punch the spindals out. Easier to do the rest of the winch also.

Be careful if there are any other elements that hold the whole together - probably follow a detailed tech drawing or else a manufacturer's instruction on how to service the thing.

Cheers,

I looks like some other winches I have had apart. 4 gears, 2 on each side of the center spindal. I am taking pictures as I go so that I have a path to get back. Also only taking one at a time apart.
