Has anyone tried these chlorine dioxide kits on their boat?

Re: chlorine dioxide

I purchased a boat with a bad odor problem. Holding tank ruptured. I used a Chlorine Dioxide product for Boater Tech - Boat Smell Removal | Completely Eliminate Odors on Your Boat - Boater Tech. It worked very well. Odor is gone. Chlorine Dioxide works very well getting rid of odors.

Re: chlorine dioxide

i found that bad odors are best gotten rid of by curing the problem. i use nature's miracle and no more bad smells. awesome stuff, and not marked up ridiculously by wm.......neither is vinegar, which also rids boats of mold for looong durations of time.

How much did you have to use?

Zee I mainly am just looking for something to treat for mold after the winter.

One packet made five gallons of liquid. I used a garden sprayer and all is gone. Spray everything you can reach and then close up the boat . I used the vapor treatment in my garage that stunk because the cushions, lines and sails were stored there. That worked just as well. My wife is the true believer. She told me that she would not go near that biological disaster I called a boat. She is amazed there is no smell at all. She appreciates the fact that the germs are dead as well.
It made ripping out the tanks and hoses a tolerable task.

You may want to try the 24/7 gel that is placed below during storage ands continuously emits a low level. You may not have anything to deal with come spring.
