Exclamation Check Engine Light and alarm

We have a 1998 Cruisers Express 4270 with 2 CAT diesel 3116 engines. Starboard engine has recently been fixed (it overheated last year and cracked the head). Took boat out yesterday for the first time and all gauges were reading good temps, but starboard check engine light came on along with alarm. Engine wasn’t overheating, so what could cause the warning light and alarm to come on?

Temp Sensor. If accessible swap them between engines.
