CD28 - mast wiring through deck

Hola!

I bough Cape Dory CD28 as my first boat and now trying to figure out how to fix leaking holes for mast wires. The previous owner did two holes on the deck near the mast base but they leak both. See attached photos.

Whats you suggestion how to fix it? Im thinking about using only one hole in the deck. And to seal the second one. That way, all cables would be wired though one hole (antena + 2 electric). Im thinking about installation of some kind of socket on the deck where I the wires would pass through. Does exist something like this?

Better option would be to seal both holes and lead the wires through the base of the mast. But I have no idea how to do that? Again, see attached photos. Any suggestions?

The second option leads me also to the question how were the mast cables wired originaly on CD28?

Cable thru deck fittings, are what you need.

You could use a wire block for the interior and extend those wires to a more remote and unseen area.
Wire chafe protection, can help to hide stuff.

Also, a wood block rounded and hollowed inside, will dress that visible cabin top area.
Just stuff those wires up in there.
Stick to the cabin interior top with a lite coating of 4000 polycaulk or silicone. And support till its cured.
You can just pull it off later if needed.

I just bought a SS swan's neck deck gland from Piplers in the UK, these are not available in North America (at least I could not find anyone selling).
I needed a deck gland for 6 wires + coax one hole on deck. Nothing available other than the deck glands that can only hold one or a few wires, and sometimes they cost more than the 70 bucks I paid shipped.

This is the closest I found but does not hold all the wires, so I would need two --- but it may work for you:

Don't believe there is a post on this rig, it looks to be supported on a long flange running fore and aft. It's raised above the cabin top.

You need glands as others stated. Cape Dory is a good choice for a first boat. Enjoy
