catalina 27 bowsprit/ pulpit/chainlocker

before I start I am still learning boat terminology so if I get it work feel free to correct me

I have a 73' catalina 27 and there is no proper chain/rode locker. if I were to use where it is currently stored in the bow of the v birth where the port/starboard light access is, it will drain into the v birth. the previous owner never anchored out once

so I was thinking about making a bow sprit/ pulpit with an integrated chain locker. out of powdercoated aluminum (boat lives on a lake and sees salt once a year)

the locker would be through bolted to the bow/ foredeck area of the boat with a pulpit for a rocna style anchor leading out from that with new safety rail

I have been looking but cannot find any sailboats of any size that have done somthing like this. just looking for thoughts and opinions
