Canvas Question

I am storing my boat for several months in Florida. Should I take the canvas/plastic windows off? Will the sun deteriorate it as much when it is off as much as leaving it on?

My boat isnon Merritt Island. I keep my bimini up, but not the dodger. So far, its been fine and i think protects my cockpit and electronics from the sun which is worth it. I would not leave the dodger or head sail upmdue tonthe possibility of high winds.

When storing your boat, the canvas should be taken off, inspected, sent in for repairs if necessary, rolled up, and stored. UV is the killer of waterproofing, threads, zippers, and polyvinyl windows. Storage covers should be put over hatches, electronics and anything else requiring protection from the Florida sun.
