Can someone tell me how to use one of these?

I cannot figure out what is open and what is closed.

Happen to have one just like this on my shelf waiting to install. The way the handle points, left or right that hose will go out the bottom. If the handle points to the side then all hoses are closed.

I am dense.... is the long portion of the handle pointing at the port that is open or is the short part of the handle pointing at the open port?

Sorry. The way I said it was ambiguous.

Yes where the long end of the handle is sitting, the port under that end is the one that is open to go out the bottom. Then when the long end of the handle is sticking out to the side all ports are closed off.

So in the photo on the Defender site, the port to the left is open to the bottom.
