Re: Cabin Sole Replacement

I was thinking of using something like that in my galley....then I realized that more than just water would end up in the bilge. The builder of my boat just used plywood (the boat was designed to have a very sparse interior), I am replacing it with tongue and groove Cumaroo flooring

That's a good idea. I'd be interested in seeing your progress. What type of wood and finish were you thinking of using? Keep me posted...

Re: Cabin Sole Replacement

The varnish I prefer to use (Le Tonkinois) is considered to be "soft" as it does not have the petroleum solvents most varnishes have that cause them to harden, it uses lineseed oil and tung oil making it "technically" an oil with some varnish qualities. I might be able to add a hardener to it or put a final coat that is hard.
