Buying Chinese Goods on eBay!!

I think I've bought the last goods I want from China.

I don't know what their problem is but I am currently waiting for four items (all cheap). Just looking at the tracking for one item I wonder if I will ever see the goods.

Have a look at this and scroll down. (I bought the goods 20th March 2021)

Re: Buying Chinese Goods on eBay!!

When you look at products on eBay you can filter where the seller is located.
I’ve waited way too long for items from China only to find they are out of stock.
Check the seller reviews first. Call eBay is you get tired of waiting.
I’ve found them very helpful.

Re: Buying Chinese Goods on eBay!!

Getting stuff from China is often somewhere between slow and really slow. So I only do it if there's not a better option and I don't need the item right away.

If it’s at least a week past the expected receive date in the confirmation email contact the seller and they’ll usually refund your payment. They don’t want you to leave bad review.

Re: Buying Chinese Goods on eBay!!

Sometimes weird parts are only available from China sellers.

Most times they arrive as expected in two months.

If not, I cancel, get refund and order again.

Re: Buying Chinese Goods on eBay!!

Some China sellers are really good and items arrive in 3 weeks. Others are terrible and you never see it. I had one that said it was delivered and I never saw it. I have had a few that went over the time limit and I was given a full refund, and then a week or two later the item arrived.
The prices are so much less that I find it worth the effort, but as mentioned, only if the item is something I am OK to wait for.

Re: Buying Chinese Goods on eBay!!

In >70 transactions with Chinese vendors (mostly small electronic assemblies, ebay and otherwise) over the last 5 years, only 2 or 3 failed to arrive, and it was easy to get a refund or the item resent. Most arrive in 2 to 3 weeks; a few took 6 or more weeks. I almost always choose the basic tracking, and it's usually accurate. I think the OP is seeing some sort of data or entry problem.

You might be right as they asked me for my opinion of China Post. I let them know of my opinion and they came back assuring me the article was on the way but they didn't give any further details.

Like others I only buy from China when I can afford to wait to wait 2 months and it is cheap.

I would never buy a rechargeable battery or SD Card from China as it would almost certainly be fake

In March i bought 4 16GB SD cards from overseas (for use in digital audio and video recorders) just to see. They all checked out ok re size, and seem to work OK, but I haven't beat on them yet. 16GB is on the small end of available cards, so less likely to be faked.

Most of what I buy is electronic assemblies or devices, connectors, and the occasional small tools, where the quality can be quickly determined. Anything mission critical or where a longer warranty is necessary, I seek out local suppliers.

I have made the decision to not buy Chinese after their actions that have decimated so many of our exports to them, purely political bullying because this pissy little island will not bend over and do what the CCP demands of us.
Won't hurt China I know, but makes me feel better.

Won't hurt China I know, but makes me feel better.

I won't buy anything chinese as far as food (I demand Australian), electronic items (phones), tools, batteries etc. (But I did buy a neck strap for my camera costing $9 because the Australian price was far more expensive)

Like you it makes me feel better

Re: Buying Chinese Goods on eBay!!

depending what it is, i've always been happy to buy via ebay etc ex china

have noticed that the delivery times have dragged out since covid reduced the number of aircraft moving by 90%, but this is not restricted to china. purchased a waterpump ex usofa recently and delivery was not much better

cheers,

Re: Buying Chinese Goods on eBay!!

I'm sorry but regardless of the delivery times, their products are usually junk. You're better off buying used and rebuilding.
They are notorious for using "regrind" plastic in their products, knowing they will degrade quickly.

I agree on the junk part. However I have a big problem with the fact, that often I get from so called reputable vendors here the same junk only with their brand on it. And if I'm going to be buying junk anyway, i prefer to pay less.
