Right!...You'll come here and drop a bomb like that first comment and not back it up. It's your bias rhetoric at it's best.

Well that looks like nice little yacht. Should have a lot of fun building that unless you get carried away trying to be too authentic and it costing you heaps more than is sensible.

Thanks! Yes, the Benford Sailing Dories are quite nice. I don't plan on making mine quite as sexy as Wild Fox (especially below decks).. from all the pics I've seen, I'm pretty sure the original owner had her professionally built.

<sigh> It turns out the largest thread size they make these things in is M5. I need M10 for them to be strong enough. Disappointing...

Thanks for trying, though.

How about the US declaring Canadian steel and aluminium a security risk and imposing a 25% tarrif?

Excellent example!

I rest my case.

I totally agree on that one. The "problem" that imposed that has been replaced. I think that situation might change.

I am a Canadian myself and as a young guy, worked in my home town of Hamilton at Stelco (Steel company of Canada). After I left and came to the U.S., I sadly watched as the company could not meet strict pollution laws or make a profit on overseas sales. It was eventually bought by U.S. steel. Although I believe in Unions, that particular Union would not work with the steel company and helped hasten it's demise.

If anyone is curious to see how one goes together (and how easy they are to build, even with just basic tools), check out Tony Brown's YouTube channel, SV Tapatya. He's been documenting in detail every step of the build of the smaller 31'8" version of the yacht I intend to build. He's been going a little less than 4 years now, mostly just working on her weekends, and basically has just some detail work, the masts, rudder and keel to go.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCv3...zfAZeF6ie5dfZA

(And he really deserves to have a lot more subscribers than he does, so if you like what he's doing, please do subscribe to his channel!)
