My questions....if ya look in the middle...the planning hull.....as you start to move threw the water don't you think the air will get trapped under neath and help break the water friction? I know ..... the comments "oh that is too heavy, a Motorboat planning hull will never work....its just too heavy" I am sitting at about 175 pound right now. so its a lot lighter then I was expecting.

I guess it is possible for air to get trapped, but by making that 'W' shape you have increased surface area and weight. Yes, This
half hull is heavy at 175lbs. looks like you still need a
deck, a place to sit,
mast step.. You are doing a
trimaran correct? so you need structure for the beams to mount., etc. So with everything, I'd expect that weight to at least double. As long as you have enough
power, weight alone is not a show stopper. You will need a fairly large rig/kite and/or a lot of
wind. If you are going to use a kite-surfing kite as a sail, keep in mind those are designed to move a person and not much more (~200lbs). Your total weight will be triple that.
A foiling Moth weighs about 80lbs complete with
rigging, foils, everything.
