Having been down the road of
blisters looking at all the options doing the
research, I can comfortably say it is a case by case judgement call and your comfort level. We opted to have the whole bottom peeled sanded reglassed with the entire bottom re coated with 1708 biaxial glass amounting to a replacement of around 1/8-3/16" thickness added. Would I do it again you bet. Costly ? That's relative to the value and
reliability you want in a large
boat. I can tell you it's better than what came out of the yard new. And as a byproduct I was able to cap numerous thruhulls without the worry of if I did it right. Now new bottom all glass,
epoxy barrier coatings and then
bottom paint I sleep just a little bit easier. And yes pictures and videos of every step improve the value should I ever decide to sell it.
