Still amazed at the durability and serviceability of a 44 year old hatch.

An aside note. Be careful with those non-Bomar plastic knobs. I see that triangular one on the slide rod.
I got some good ones from McMaster-Carr to replace the crazy expensive
Bomar knobs. Big mistake. The metal threaded insert thats inside the plastic knob seized up on the threaded stud that connects to the latch. Then the plastic knob stripped itself from the threaded insert it was molded around. I ended up with a crazy tough and impossible to remove plastic knob seized onto the Bomar threaded hatch rod. Ended up having to knock out the metal pin in the hatch to get the entire assembly off the hatch.
I took the seized knob/hatch arm to
work and even with a vice and saws could not get it off without destroying the threaded metal rod for the hatch arm. Why i ended up having to buy a new one in the first place. If you use non-Bomar knobs that have a metal insert, lube them once in a while or use some anti-seize so they dont seize up on you.
