Boat Economy (I'm New Here)

Hello
I'm a Danish guy, i have a swedish boat "41' Passad" it's a slim fast boat but it's not liveable, but it's perfect for weekends and hollyday's and it's a real joy to sail it. I have been thinking a long time (3-4 years) and looking for boats around 100k because i want to live on a sailboat and cruise the world, and i like the "50' columbia" alot, but i'm afraid of the monthly/yearly cost of a boat of that size.. It's not the rent in the harbour i'm worried about, but the maintance of the boat. Anybody have a idea what it cost to take care of a old boat like this.
I know ofcourse that all kind off things can happen whit the boat, i'm thinking in general, the boat i have now and boat's before didn't cost much in maintance but i hear and understand when other talks about boats that it gets expensive the bigger sailboats gets so if i want to live on a the 50' Columbia and cruise, how much will it cost me?.. I know it's a question that can't be answaret easily but i will be greatful if i can get a idea about it.. maybe a stupid question

I don't know if this thread is the right place..

Sorry my english
Ken

Aloha Ken,
Welcome to the forum. Your English is just fine.
An easy answer would be that a 50 would cost about double of a 40 and a 40 would cost about double of a 35 and a 35 would cost about double of a 30. Just an easy forumula that really isn't too accurate because each boat has a history of being either well maintained by previous owners or trashed. Good luck on whatever boat you choose.
kind regards,
