Bilge Paint -

We have chipping and worn off bilge paint that is an Oyster color. Prefer not to touch up with a white or gray paint when the rest of the bilge is off white. The only bilge paint I can find is non-tintable.

Any source for a tintable bilge paint or how about garage floor paint?

Re: Bilge Paint -

Why not use an epoxy gloss enamel?

When I was buying paint for the bilge the the salesperson at our large national hardware chain recommended Rust Guard epoxy high gloss enamel. When I reminded her it was for a boat she said "You can buy the same paint in our marine section but you will pay double the price".

Epoxy high gloss enamel is also sold under the trade name as Kill Rust (But there are many others). They don't need a primer.

Quote:
"TotalBilge comes in Gray or White, but can be easily tinted by adding a small portion (10-15%) of TotalBoat “Wet Edge” marine topside paint to this bilge paint. This does limit how much you can change the color of TotalBilge, but this is to maintain the product's durability and resilience. TotalBoat Wet Edge, as a stand-alone product, does not have the same resilience in a bilge environment as TotalBilge.

Universal pigments, dispersion pigments for gelcoats and epoxies, or pigments from a local hardware store should not be added to TotalBilge, as they are not considered compatible."
