Best outdoor tabletop varnish

I have a table in my cockpit which is wood. I varnished it when it was built with some old varnish that was in my Dad's workshop. Satin finish "spar varnish" but the table top has not held up well over the last year.

In very hot weather, the varnish seemed soft and it turned dark from grime in wear spots that were touched a lot. This grime doesn't seem to wipe off. I'd like to sand it and varnish with something that won't stain and that is harder.

Looking for suggestions.

Currently really liking Interlux's "Compass Clear." It won't give your wood the yellow sheen that, say, Z-spar's Flagship varnish does after the first eight coats.

Any modern polyurethane is going to be superior to old fashioned spar varnish. Here's a comparison article:

Good choices. All that said, there is no miracle varnish. The stuff on a gymnasium floor is the same as the stuff recommended above; it's just better cared for than your boat's sole.

A second vote for Awlwood, especially the satin final coat!
