I don't know how old the standing rigging is. I would love to replace it all, but for now i'll have to be happy with replacing the bent stuff. I do seasonal work and my season just ended. I'm not going to let budget stop me from sailing.

The boat was kept in dry storage by the previous owner. This is a trailer boat. I found out that he only sailed a few weeks a year broke up through the summer. He passed away 3 years ago. prior to that he was starting to go senile according to his daughter. he tried to step the mast by himself 5 tears ago. That's how the toggles got bent. The boat was last sailed the summer prior to that. So 6 years in dry storage. He owned the boat for 14 years. I've found out that the first owner was from Ohio. As far as i can tell they are the only owners. There may have been someone in between though.

Hi Alton, you ask in this post how dangerous is sailing with the rigging in this conditions and i think a 15 to 20 years old rigging plus some bent rigging screws is a big call for a dismasting, know, is up to you to sail in this conditions, spend some money know in rigging or spend some money later in a new mast, or sail in very light winds and hope for the best, Cheers.
