Re: Balistic Coatings

Just curious.... why would you spray the inside? So things get a better grip? :>)

Re: Balistic Coatings

hi again, When I had the inside of the holding tank and anchor locker sprayed , the guy on the gun layed down quite a smooth coating with none of the aggressive texture of a truck bed liner. Considering that the inside of the holding tank is now one solid continuous membrane I have no worries of this nasty piece of business ever falling apart. He mentioned that one of his primary marine applications is to make old leaky fuel tanks liquid tight again. Now that is an act of faith!

Re: Balistic Coatings

After seeing the explosive tests on this stuff,,i can just imagine how it would perform if the whole Hull was coated in the stuff,,,talk about Bomb proof,,,i think i will try it on a dingy hull and see how it performs.

It's to rough for my old mans skin !! I really can't see a reason for it on a cruiseing boat ! I don't intend to carry any bombs ! LOL and I coated my last tanks with epoxy and there still going strong after 8 yrs ! Just my 2 cents Bob and Connie

Re: Balistic Coatings

I was thinking of its Ballistic characteristics,,i.e a hull impervious to penetration,, where i live the threat of dead head strikes is an ever present problem
(dead heads are rogue logs)

Re: Balistic Coatings

Has anyone ever seen how they spray this stuff? I havent. I guess I thought the typical very uniform rough texture of LineX was the way it came out of the gun. But based on "..the guy on the gun layed down quite a smooth coating with none of the aggressive texture of a truck bed liner." I'm wondering , do they finish the texture manually after spraying or have a way to vary the spray that much...?
