Back Afloat !

After two weeks on the hard, we're back in our natural element! There's something about stepping aboard a boat that does not move that just does not feel right....

Anyway, two weeks, two coats of Trinidad Blue on the bottom, two coats of Interlux on the hull, new cove and boot stripes and new graphics later, we've got a new "good old boat"!!!

At full throttle on the way to the yard I got 3.2 knts., on the way back to the marina, at 3/4 throttle, 7.2 knts. Can you say clean bottom equals Happy, Happy ? !!

No blisters, either

Pics below.

Just out of curiosity... Did you do the work yourself or did you hire it done? Did you do top sides too? What did it cost? I need to do the same to my boat. 1968 Cal-34

Thanks,

Tim

I paid to have it done. (Damn working too much anyway)
Bottom job, including haulout fee, pressure wash, new shaft anode and paint =$1,700.00 US.

Hull sides = $50.00 per foot (x 30 ft. boat=$1,500.00 US.

The top sides (deck) is in pretty good shape and I had redone all the non skid myself 3 yrs. ago. It's holding up well.

Oh, and the graphics, including the stern and bow numbers, were from a local sign shop @ $145.00. They applied them also.

Thanks Dave!

You had the work done in Panama City? Sounds like a great deal. Don't think I would try and do it myself for $3400.00. Looks like they did a great job too. the local yard here in Chattanooga quoted me $1500 for the bottom job. I didn't ask about the rest of the hull.

Thanks again for the info.

Yep, Bay County Boatyard. The ownerls name is Robert. A fair and honest quote and job. I can whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone.

First class job Pirate!
Love the graphics and the price for that is very reasonable compared to on-line lettering.
