In the proces of refitting an old Trintella 3a, I got an old, but supposedly unused unit of the
Autohelm 6000. There was a similar unit already installed, but that was corroded and ruined
So we replaced the
cables and the unit.
But when I turn it on,
Firstly the standby button don’t seem to function properly. If I click auto, the displays gets the A in front of the
compass heading (which is completely wrong), but then nothing happens if I press standby.
If I try out at sea, it will hold my course when clicking auto. If I then try to change the course, it either goes into a circle mode spinning me around, while the display blinking a C in front of the ever changing
compass heading.
Alternatively nothing happens.
I tried to activate calibration mode by pushing down standby, but again, this button don’t seem to
work. We did check the button on the circuit board though, and there it seemed to be working.
