Aquanamel paint for interior

Hey guys, just bought a boat and want to freshen up the interior. It has some nice joinery and for its age it is very liveable and well preserved. I’m just going to re upholster and paint a couple of the panels where it’s only a veneer and is flaking a little bit. So this question might be more related to my location m, I’m looking at a product here in Australia called Dulux Aquanamel and was wondering if it would be suitable for a boat? Or has anyone here in Aus used or recommend another product? Cheers. Here is the link:

Cheers for any advice.

Re: Aquanamel paint for interior

Water-based enamels are commonly used on residential surfaces that used to be painted with oil-based paint. I think that even in a house they are a compromise with convenience, and painted my trim, doors, and the like with oil-based. I don't think that i would use a water-based enamel in a boat.

Re: Aquanamel paint for interior

Oil based paints are being phased out because of health concerns and environmental damage.

I've used aquanamel in my boat. I think oil based will give a higher sheen but a "satin" finish is considered better as it won't show up imperfections.

While I am happy with water based paints I balk at water based varnishes and water based contact adhesive. How much longer will we have a choice?

After some 300 years of use, most oil-based paints are beginning to be phased out, destined to become the buggy whips and Easter bonnets of architectural coatings. ... They also affect the formulation of many common latex paints as well as primers, stains, and varnishes. So expect changes in these products, too.
