Any home shop machinists out there?

One thing I miss a lot since moving onto my boat is my old workshop and the basic machine tools I owned, lathe, mill, etc. Many of my boat projects would be easier if I still had those tools. C'est la vie.

Anyway, I need a small part made. It will require a lathe and a metric tap and die. If anyone can help, PM me and I'll send a drawing.

Do you have room for one of the small bench top mills? 54' boat ought to

Many of these can be converted to a CNC up to 5 axis if you're handy. I think the Harbor Freight mill is actually a re-branded Seig. For< $3,000 you could have a fully functional 3 axis CNC machine onboard.

Love the idea, but the admiral would execute me.

Several offers of assistance from CF members, I think we'll get this made.

Thanks everyone, this place is awesome.

You might try a gunsmith forum.

Unimat lathe all fits in a box and would work on a boat.
