Wondering if anyone knows which antifouling is giving the best results in the caribbean?

Hard or Soft?

Brands?

I had been using Sea Hawk 44 with fairly good results. The first time I applied it a lot of barnacles grew on the boat and Sea Hawk did not honor the warranty it had back then. I still applied it for a number of years with much better results.

I am in the deep Caribbean and the majority of us seem to use ABC #3. It is an ablative paint. Very good and cheaper. $120.00 gallon in Curacao. If farther east like Trinidad, Jotun is very popular.

I have used Islander 44 hard ablative for four years with good results. Unfortunately, it will totaly illegal in the U.S. soon. Seahawk has a newer paint that is tin-free paint, Biocop, that they claim outperforms the Islander 44. I have no experience with this paint but will try it next time. A primer is needed prior to applying this paint over a tin based paint. Call Seahawk in Florida and talk to them. You may do better applying the Biocop over your current paint.
