Re: Alberg 30 refit/recoring
Congrats on the beautiful Classic Plastic, the old CCA style design just make my heart go pitter patter...and many people will stop and stare at it once it's done I am sure. The funny thing about owning an older girl is that people will ask you about it, and certainly it will stand out in a crowd while walking the docks. I find it interesting how many people will walk by the modern designs without even much of a glance, but will stop and stare at one of these grand old ladies, myself included.
Many people will think you are nuts for doing what you are to restore some old boat, I will agree with them , but as you put it, it is a labour of love, and financially a lot cheaper than the new boats out there. I can totally empathize with you, as I too bought an oldie but goodie. Everyone, and I mean everyone thinks I am nuts for attempting just doing what I am doing. My wife just laughs, but she knows me, and knows it will be a thing of beauty once I am done. I can't wait to see how things come progress...keep on posting updates...
My latest project....

Oh that little thing? I use that for a dinghy.
But seriously, Columbia 50! What a great project too! Beautiful, strong and fast. Also a classic that is well worth the trouble I'd say!

Re: Alberg 30 refit/recoring
It is with regret that I've decide to abandon my Alberg 30 project. My life took a sudden and completely unexpected left turn last July.Just too many memories to continue. A30 isn't exactly the best full time liveaboard either.....so.
I've decided to move forward with becoming a full time liveaboard. This week I purchased a Westsail 32. She will become my new home. I plan on moving aboard by the end of the year. I will start a new blog as well.

Is your Alberg sold, for sale, what's its status?

Too bad and Congratulations.
Hope the transition to being a liveaboard goes well. Look forward to seeing more of the new boat.
Good luck to you.

Thank you Dan. I appreciate it and I struggled with the decision for months. I tried a few times to get out there and pick up the work but just couldn't muster the motivation.
What you sent me will still be put to good use on my new boat.
Thanks
