Adhering Teak Trim

Hello, a while back I made a new DC panel out of birch and was thinking of adding a piece of trim to finish off the look and clean up an edge.

I have a 6’ x1”x1/2” piece of teak that I think would work great but my question is how should I adhere it? I would like to avoid screws and even finishing nails if possible.
I’m assuming basic wood glue won’t work well with teak.

Any suggestions?

Not an expert woodworker here, at all, but here's my thoughts:

First one, is to bullnose the birch, and it should look really nice, without so much extra work.

That teak is going to stick up quite a lot, unless you can make thin strips to make your frame. If you did that, then clean the teak with acetone, and then epoxy it down. Clamp and let set up. Then sand and varnish.

Teak glues just fine (in such a lightly load application) as long as the glue surface is freshly milled or, as Ann said, cleaned first. Any common woodworking glue will work, I like Tightbond Two, or epoxy.

Adhering Teak Trim

Thanks for the advice y’all. I am certainly not very practiced at woodworking right now so thought I’d ask before I ruined a piece of teak/my panel.

Basically as long as I prep the teak it shouldn’t be much of an issue. I have plenty of epoxy on hand so that will likely be the route I go.

It’s actually only 1/4” thick not 1/2” so it will stick up but Not to dramatically. I think it will look nice as it will frame the panel. I also need it to hide the top open edge (the panel folds down forward)

Here’s where it’s going to go! Not the best I know but a million times better than what it was before...
