Add solar to Bimini?

Thinking of adding solar to a (soft, sunbrella) bimini.

Can one sew in soft panels? Or some type of fastener? What about the added weight?

Anyone done this? How?

Flexible panels are short lived. I decided to install rigid panels over my Bimini instead. I've been extremely pleased with the installation in every way. It's unobtrusive, low windage, produces the expected amount of power, and is easy to remove for seasonal storage or storm conditions.

If you use flexible panels I recommend getting some coroplast plastic board and making backer panels for them. Adding rigidity will extend the life dramatically.
