Adapter for Chinese Pumpout Fitting

My Nimble Artic 26 has pumpout fittings made in Taiwan are just a little to small for Texas.


I have a Pump out with an internal thread 1.426 inches or 36.2204mm diameter

threads 114 per inch or 2.8956mm


I want to connect it to a standard American pipe 1.25 inches in diameter with coarse thread. When I try to screw the plastic 1.25 adapter from Home Depot in, it wont fit.


I need to pull a vacuum through the pipe to empty a tank it is connected to.


I can not find anything on the internet that will help me.


Where should I look ? thx

Try this one has a different thread pitch (11.5tpi) from the standard and fits my POCTA built boat perfectly:

Sometimes the solution is to buy the complete item locally and replace the one that you are having problems finding the part that you want.

Use a universal instead of a threaded fitting. I'd be very, very surprised you can't find your fitting here:

Most pump out boats and facilities have a universal. Do you need to carry your own connector? I've never needed to carry a connector...ever.

For a couple of months I tried to find a fitting that would adapt the pumpout connection on my Nimble Artic 26 to 1 3/4" pipe so I could attach my newly purchased Blackwater Bazooka.

After asking around here and on Trailer Sailor forum I decided to replace the connection with a standard connection from West Marine.

There were three problems I encountered.

1.The connector is sealed to the deck with 3M 5200
2. The pipe is a corrugated plastic pipe ( like a hair dryer cap pipe) and was very difficult to remove from the old fitting.
3. The connector is right beside the bulkhead between the head and the galley, so there isn't a lot of room available to shove the pipe on to the connector.


After I removed the screws from the connector I found that I couldn't chisel it off the deck.
I purchased some DEBOND Marine Formula Adhesive & Sealant Remover from West Marine.
When I applied this to the sealant beneath the connector and waited five minutes on a warm winter day. The connector came off easily with just a little prying.
Then I had a problem removing the pipe that leads to the black water tank from the connector. When I tried cutting it off with an exacto knife I sliced my finger instead.
Eventually I pried it off with determination.
Then I had the problem of reattaching the pipe to the new connector.
I tried to shove it on but was unsuccessful until I attached the connector to the deck, sealing it with Goop Silicone sealant and then heating the pipe with a hair dryer until it was hot to the touch. Then I could shove the pipe on with out problem.

The Result :


Now I await warm weather to finally pump out the Blackwater tank.

Since I couldn't find any metric fittings in the US and was unwilling to pay for the shipping from the UK.



Now I have a system that works.
